Arctic Cat 2020 lineup announced!

Two brand new models highlight Arctic Cat's 35-model lineup for 2020, with one big change to how they're selling sleds ...
The all new Riot crossover sleds masterfully blend the best elements of the M Series and ZR models.
When it comes to snowmobile technology, Arctic Cat has taken a magnitude of honors by introducing some of the most intelligent, industry-leading innovations. Last year, the Alpha One and iACT suspensions topped the charts. New model updates and innovations continue for 2020, but more intelligently, Arctic Cat will be the first OEM to sell snowmobiles differently than the competition.

For 2020, two new models headline a 35-model snowmobile lineup. That’s not a mistake — we said 35 models!
Built to tame the lakes, trails, trees and power lines that are the playgrounds for adventure riders, the Riot 50/50 crossover is offered in either 6000 or 8000 engine configurations.
RIOT crossover
Arctic Cat redefines the crossover category for 2020 with the all-new Riot line of premium snowmobiles in 6000- or 8000-Series power categories. Built to tame the lakes, trails, trees and power lines that are the playgrounds for adventure riders, Riot announces a new revolution in 50/50 crossover performance thanks to its masterful blend of DNA pulled straight from M Series and ZR models.

Every Riot model hits the perfect blend of crossover performance thanks to a combination of the new ARS II front suspension and all-new CROSS-ACTION Rear Suspension. The uncoupled CROSS-ACTION suspension provides a playful, smile-inducing ride on the trail or in the trees thanks to its great weight transfer that gets the front end up with every hit of the throttle. The ARS II front suspension comes straight off the racetrack where it redefined what precision control and big-bump comfort is all about. New geometry and a new forged spindle that’s 1.5 inches taller than previous crossover spindles give ARS II its signature performance advantage.

Those who want to venture into steeper and deeper snow should take particular interest in the Riot X, which differentiates itself with lightweight front Arctic Mountain Suspension (AMS) featuring mountain spindles and geometry for easy carving in snow and on hardpack. Its adjustable 39.5-inch to 41.5-inch ski stance and vertical steering post deliver excellent side hilling capability and confident handling in a wide range of crossover conditions, especially when gripping snow with the new 2-inch Challenger track.

New for 2020, the CROSS-ACTION rear suspension on Riot models blends the increased weight transfer of an uncoupled rear arm with the optimal cornering and bump absorption of the patented SLIDE-ACTION front arm used on Arctic Cat trail machines. The result is a playful ride quality, with more weight transfer during acceleration for great performance in deep snow as well as outstanding comfort and traction over big bumps and in all snow conditions. The CROSS-ACTION suspension also incorporates Arctic Cat’s Torque-Sensing Link™ that allows a lower and more consistent track tension, adjustable spring preload and a 3-wheel rear axle assembly. The CROSS-ACTION suspension offers 13.5 inches of travel and comes in a 146-inch length with ice scratchers.
The revolutionary Alpha One single-beam rear skid is now offered in three variations for 2020.
Three Alpha Ones to choose from
Alpha One sets a benchmark in lightweight mountain performance and maneuverability in three model choices, all featuring the narrow-profile bodywork and Ascender platform, plus the lightweight Arctic Mountain Suspension (AMS) with mountain-specific spindles, geometry and a 35.5-inch to 37.5-inch stance for better side hilling, reduced drag in the snow and optimal handling.

All three M 8000 models get their mojo from a new, Next-Gen C-TEC2 8000-Series engine delivering a new level of clean Arctic Cat 2-stroke engine performance and technology. The 794cc C-TEC2 twin features new cylinders, pistons, combustion chamber, flywheel and fuel rail, plus a new fuel calibration strategy that delivers a cleaner and more responsive performance, with improved fuel economy and power in the 165 HP class of engines. That performance stays consistent with the quick acceleration and auto-adjusting design of the TEAM Rapid Response II drive clutch, Rapid Reaction driven clutch and the entire Arctic Drive System.
Now this is just a little peek into the 2020 lineup for Arctic Cat. Stay tuned as we will be releasing more information as we receive it. Also check out our March/Spring 2019 issue for the low-down on all the goodies the OEMs have for us in the next model year!
