Got an answer to my question from my dealer, it’s not the XM that is different it’s the e-tech that needs a different clutch puller than the carb model.
You can cut about 3/8"+ off the tip of a p-tec puller and it will work on both. Or get the etec puller.
If you havn't tried using water and teflon tape to "hydraulic" the clutch off, that is a good option. Easier on everything and no puller needed.
