Hey riders,
I blew the primary clutch up on my '96 Mach Z several years ago. The inner part that goes on the crankshaft cracked and let loose. I'm getting the sled going again for the winter. I acquired a brand new inner half at a swap meet this fall. How can I tell if this new inner half is what I need for my Mach Z? I know the era(age) is right but I also know that the 583's required a different clutch puller for some reason than the other sleds like mine. Can someone please tell me what the difference between the 2 clutches is? I no longer have the old one to compare to.
Thanks for any help.
In some research, I see the 583 puller is a 14x1mm, where the Mach Z puller is a 14x1.5mm. So maybe the clutch is the same, but the thread size into the crank is different? Can anyone confirm this?
different cranks,won't fit
Thanks for replying. I must have lucked out then. I just test fit it on the crank and she fits beautifully. No slop, no play.
