Re: mxz speedometer works backwards
the sled is a 1999 mxz 670 ho and the belt snapped taking out the cable and the black plastic cover on the tunnel at the shaft. replaced both parts and the cable spins the correct direction with track but the speedo works backwards im conviced that its something in the speedo. i put the sled in the air and in forward no mph and odometer counts backwards, in reverse the mph work and it counts the up correctly everyone is saying thats impossible but its happening. and the number one answer is soon it will be new. funny but not funny any thoughts would be appreciated Thanks Gerry

Re: mxz speedometer works backwards
did you replace the bearing cap/speedo cable adapter below the secondary clutch with an original one,did you remove the MPH/KMH adapter up on the back of the gauge? if everything is the way it is supposed to be then you can take a small peice of your old cable insert and put it into a cordless drill insert it into the back of the speedo directly (run drill in the standard direction)and if the speedo works backward then there is something wrong with the gauge.if it works correctly then you should be looking at the other end of the cable, with the sled running and the track rotating looking at the end of the cable (speedo end) it should be rotating counter clock wise.
