gearing formula

can someone tell me the formula for gearing and is the final ratio of the cat clutch? Is it 1:1 at full shift? thanks

standard cat clutches you should use 1 to 1, it is best to pick up a racer manual to get all the gear ratio to speed charts .ill try and get it on here the best i can.

max RPM      top sprocket      track pitch* drive sprocket                60
---------------  * --------------------  *  ----------------------------------------- * -------------------------
clutch ratio     bottom sprkt                     12                                  5280

*= multiply there is no key for it

master mechanic-outboard,sterndrive,pwc,snowmobile.

thanks Todd. So am i right with my calculations??   using 9300 as rpm,cat clutch ratio,  20-46 gearing,2.52 pitch with 9 tooth drivers i get 86.84 MPH am i correct? thanks again for the help

that what my math figures it to be,just remember those numbers only hold true if there is no track slippage or belt slippage
