I;ve always been a Polaris fan,but the 2009 models should get the ugly duckling award along with Yamaha. The headlight housing does'nt do the '09 Polaris any justice. The instrument consul is too narrow to allow a wide enough winshield to give decent protection from wind. The empty space behind the seat should be used for a storage type trunk.Ski Doo and Artic Cat have made some storage behind the seats. I believe a sled should be attractive enough to make me want to buy,the '09 Polaris does not do that.
I agree with you 100%. I too have been a long time Polaris owner. Last spring when I was deciding which sled to buy I was leaning towards the FST, then Polaris eliminated it. I didn't like any of the other models they had to offer so I jumped ship and now have an Arctic Cat Z1 LXR in my garage. It is unbelievable the storage that is under the seat of the Arctic Cat. I am keeping my '97 Indy 440 for a spare.
And why would you come on the Polaris thread to tell us this?
That's exactly why you have 4 different snowmobile manufacturer. Some people like a brand, other like different things. The TZ1 is an awesome sled. I like the fit and finish of that sled and the engine should be a killer. The first thing a customer should look when he want to buy a sled, is buy what you need. It's always a problem when customer buy a sled because of what the other people think. Buy what you like and you'll be happy with it.
Willie, Personally I think they are nice looking, Best ergo's, best ride, best suspension, wind protection and comfort for me. I am 6'5" 240 pounds and no other sled fits me, but you know me anyway! LOL
Hey any snow up there yet Willie?.
I ride POO for 2 reasons, AMERICAN MADE, I am 6'3" and every other machine feeld like it was made for munchkins to me. I rode my friends RX-1 last season for 30 minutes and felt like I was visiting my sons 2'nd grade teacher sitting at one of those little desks. The old REV wasn't too bad but the new XP feels like a kids toy to me to. Cats have always been too low seating for me. Every other machine seems to be built for the 6' and under croud, Yammi seems like they are designed for 5'8" and under.

BA 900 I agree 100% with you. And the American made is a very key point! American Made means American money, and American money stays here, in America. Something more Americans should think of. But to the point of ugly or whatever, I disagree, Polaris is an awesome looking sled. They certainly stand out on the trails, that bright red is awesome, even on the fusion. I evened liked the fusion. I rode Willie's years past, and it was awesome riding. Of course the new Polaris iron is even better.
jasper: Their styling as most sleds today just don't cut it with me.
This is my own point of view: I like the looks of the IQ chassis. It has a mean look to it. It has more of a front end then the SKi Doo and Yamaha sleds (not counting the Vector). Polaris does make a tunnel bag that fits perfectly into the opening under the seat. Isn't wieght one of the new issues these days, thats why Polaris is going to a RAW look, get rid of what is not needed while still having a superior ride.
I like it, thats why I bought one.
