Fuel Pump will not pump?!?!?

what causes the fuel pumps on the newer Ski-Doo's to lock up and quit pumping fuel?? I thought that maybe it was the amount of ethanol in the gas and it evaporated or something. Last year this happened once at the beginning of the year. Once I took it apart and used carb cleaner on it, it was fine. Now this year the same thing. These are a bit of a bear to get at with the motor still in the sled. Can it be mounted in a better place?? Has anyone found a better place to put it?? Sled up on the stand for a good cleaning at this time.

Re: Fuel Pump will not pump?!?!?

Well after a good cleaning and checking the internals, I was unable to get the pump to push fuel. I got one from a good friend (thanks Troy) and will test that one out today. I did pull the pulse line off the sled and gave it a good look see for cracks or wear holes, found nothing. So, I'll install the new pump and see what we have.

I did check for fuel, pulse from case, blockage in tank etc. If I pull the line to the pump from the tank I am able to spill gas all over the floor. For the crew that PM'd me about no fuel.

needles stuck in the carbs will do the same thing,no place for the fuel to go. i see your situation happen alot in cold weather from ice in the pumps, just pour the hot water on it and away you go but those pumps have been fairly trouble free for us.

I see what you're saying but with the fuel line undone I still had no flow. New(er) pump worked fine.
