Opinions needed on 98 MXZ 670

I am looking at a 98 MXZ 670. 2350 miles, appears to have been kept up very well.

I was wondering about the performance / reliability / suspension of this model.  I bought my first sled last year a 98 polaris 600 XLT  with extra 12 suspension.  It's got a tad over 5000 miles, hard starting, not that fast, but rides nice.  My buddy has a 98 Mach1, I believe (700) That I like much better except for the ride.

I won't have a chance to ride this before buying because of no snow.  Would this be a step up from my XLT?  PS. the price is $1600

It's a reliable sled. One problem is the exhaust shield falls apart in short time. Mine ran excellent.....plenty of motor.  Suspension was good for it's time, and is a totally different sled than the XLT.  It was not the lightest sled on the trail. I traded my 98 for an XP, and kept my 99 HO for riding on the lake.

Yes you are taking a step up speed wise. I had a 600 XLT 95 and my buddy owned a 670, year I'm not sure, but the 670 was a much quicker machine and rode better than my XLT. In my opinion it is a better machine. Hoped this helped.

A MXZ 670 is a big step up from your slow-aris LOL. We have 2 and i wouldn't trade the performace on them sleds for anything. We installed a 740 big bore kit in one and it is really fast. We also done some other hop-ups on the sled too. We also bought a 02 mxz 800 this year and I'm waiting to ride. Ride Safe and Ride-on!!!!
