fox shocks question

my shocks have lost their charge and was wondering what this is from and what kind of rebuild would I have to do and what parts.  Thanks Jason

Most likely the gas has leaked past the IFP oring and is mixed in with the oil in the top. 

Depending on how long it has been since a rebuild there is probably very dirty oil (carbonized) from water getting in and mixing with all the wear particles also.

Probably are due for a complete rebuild with seal kit and a very thorough cleaning.  Check the shaft for stone nicks also.

Thanks for the info it really helped me understand more about it.  I found a complete rebuild kit from DennisKirk.com that comes with gaskets,seals,and o-rings for $23.95 each kit.
