Western U.P. Snowmobile Report
March 28, 2008 CURRENT SNOW DEPTH: 16 LATEST SNOW and GENERAL WEATHER: Mild days in the upper 30's and cold nights-still have 16" of snow cover...so regardless of the calendar, there's still some great end of winter riding to be experienced. TRAILS and CONDITIONS: ONE MORE TIME, TIME JUST GOT EXTENDED ONE MORE WEEK. The state has extended grooming until April 6th due to the exceptional snow coverage on the trails. With few exceptions, we're hearing really good reports from riders. So, groomers out on selected trails...many trails solid, flat and in really good shape. Be aware you'll run into some icy areas and you're likely to run into a few wet places-ride accordingly...and as always slow down on corners. The season has been extended for another week, so if you do want that ONE MORE TIME...it's now. As always, check with your lodging facility on ice depth and conditions before venturing out on any Lake, especially now. Come on up-have fun-be safe! SPECIAL EVENTS: Take a look at web cams throughout the area to check out the snow for yourself. Find links on our website at www.westernup.info If you want to see how our first ever Sledfest turned out, go to www.youtube.com and search sledfest 08.
