SRX Engine vibration.

When I ride my 99 700 srx I feel a high speed vibration in the handle bars and my feet. The vibration is only felt at low to midrange and seems to smooth out after 5000 rpm and I don't feel it at all at 7000 to 8300 rpm. I thought at first it might have been the drive clutch getting worn so I put a new one on but this made no difference.

The engine runs very strong and doesn't seem to lack any power but due to the high frequency of the vibration, it makes me think it can only be comming from something in the engine. But what?? That is my question. Can anyone help diagnose this?

Thanks for reading! All opinions and thoughts are welcome.

Re: SRX Engine vibration.

Pull the primary clutch and check the crank for run out...max runout is .006 inch.

Re: SRX Engine vibration.

I agree with Proton. Although the SRX is a great Sled, they did have some Crank Problems develop in the Model year of your Sled if I'm not mistaken. Better to be safe than sorry ; get that crank checked before she shakes that great Engine apart on you.

Good Luck.

Rob.
