1988 xlv weak electrical system
I have a 1988 xlv 540 that runs clean and smooth until the electric hand warmers are turned on , then it misses and loses power , also runs bad when high beam headlight is on, but not as bad as hand warmers, What and how should I check? I have an extra stator assembly , but dont know if thats what I should be changing first.

I have a 1987 XLV with the same problem - high beam, engine loses power and the headlight goes dim. Need someone who has figured it out, still have the machine, bought it brand new, it is still perfect condition except for this one problem. HELP.
