Stud removal

I just purchased a 2001 Polaris 800LE, which has 192 studs. I prefer that there is no studs, but alas it is what it is.

Question: Since I sled in the Northern WI and UP area, will removing the studs cause any problems to the track? Can I reduce the amount of studs without damaging the track?

Your thoughts,

Re: Stud removal

no expert here but just how many studs u have??  If only 96 more than likely it will not affect that much..  HOwever on the otrher side of that  if you have 96 holes in your track than somthing must give sometime..  I would leave them in or if you must have them out then fill the hole woth just a nut and bolt thats low p[rofile..  Just my thoughts, Myself I would not ride without them

Re: Stud removal

Do not remove them, make sure they are tight. If ya want less studs just cut the points off with a die grinder and leave the nut and backer alone
