Re: INNER WHEELS

Mine 2006 Apex RTX did the same thing at about 500-700 miles I did not notice until I saw a note here last year. Dealer gave me a new set of wheels and now there is 1400 miles on it and not a problem. Must have been a bad run of wheels. Chilled out they can fix it. Its a machine shxx is going to break.

Re: INNER WHEELS

Non - dealer service rep. mentioned that many of these wheels were blowing off.

"Trick" in the trade is to replace with BRP (ski-doo) wheels as they are slightly larger.

I have not put on many miles, so ok so far and haven't tried his suggestion.

I agree - not what you expect from Yamaha.

Re: INNER WHEELS

The dealer I deal with, sells/services all 4 brands.  The started putting the BRP wheels on too.  From what they could tell, the track would shift on heavy torque; and the inner lugs would catch the wheel and grenade it.  They said the BRP wheels were slightly narrower, and the track wouldn't catch them.  One of their mechanics had an Apex with it happening, so he actually put some time into figuring it out.  I hope all goes well.

Re: INNER WHEELS

Sorry, the mechanic had this problem on his OWN Apex.
