gearing for ski doo?

I have the chart for gearing in the ski doo race manual (1996)

I have a 95 mach Z improver, my question is this.

What do I gear to? I can find the ratios just not sure what speed to shoot for.

I have heard 10% over what you expect to go.  Is that with or without overdrive? What is a speed to shoot for in 500'?

Re: gearing for ski doo?
imp 800 should be geared to go 95-97mph on grass the gearing chart will give some recomendations but you will need to test.in the end it is your e.t. that will matter more than top speed although they do seem to be relative with each other on a properly clutched and motord sled. the time to go after is 5.15 @ 95mph .23-44 is what we ran in our f chassis sled.
