asphalt clutch HELP!!!
I have a 800 improver 97 mach z. I have FAST pipes, v force reeds, head cut and .060 gasket. I tried a 310/510 spring with 22.5 grams weight and b5 on secondary. Then I tried 250/380 with 19 grams and b6 on secondary and I get good rpm's off the line and then it drops to about 7000 rpm's and barely gets to 8000 at the 1/8 mile mark. Should I lower the tension on the secondary. I am running 9 tooth drivers with 25//44 gearing. I was told to run 23/43 and also 25/43. would it also help to switch to 10 tooth drivers?  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Doing more testing this weekend

You are running a very aggressive set up, that is something similiar that I tried on a 1000 Pro stocker. 230/380 spring clicker in 3 or 4, 52/47 helix with 22-24lbs in the secondary, 23/43 gearing and I would use the 10 tooth drivers for better rolling resistance.

Are the 280 ramps too steep. I get good take off then the RPM's drop to 7000 and feels like the motor is pulled down

We will need more information to help.  Helix angle and ramp part number will make a more educated decision.  Straightline Performance

Is a black ice 46/36 any good for asphalt? I am losing rpm the first half of the 1/8 mile and flying the 2nd half. Is that the weight too much or the secondary needs adjusted?
