Aluminum engine

	I have a '95 Yamaha ATV which is in dire need of an oil and filter change. Since the engine is aluminum, all attempts to remove the oil drain plug have resulted in rounding the head of the bolt. I am banging my head against the wall. This thing seems as though it is welded on! I realize there are alternatives to removing the oil...but my objective is also to replace the filter. Please, any and all suggestions for removing this oil drain plug will be appreciated! wheelykat

	Put some heat with a torch to the drain plug. Do,nt get carried away aluminum melts around a 1000 degrees. Get a pair of 10 inch vise grips adjusted to clamp on plug as tight as you can squeze, and try to loosen. Thanks to Houlton Power Sports - Hogan Tire - Jim Woods & Pistol Petes Porting

	You may also try heating drain plug as hot as you can a quench with cold water, when it,s cool try unscrewing. Thanks to Houlton Power Sports - Hogan Tire - Jim Woods & Pistol Petes Porting

	Whoa... Heat the aluminum around the plug, not the plug. Otherwise, put a visegrip on as tight as you can and tap it with a hammer. Should work fine.
