PISTON CLEARANCE(MIN)

WHAT IS A SAFE PISTON TO HEAD CLEARANCE ON MY 1997 V MAX 600 TWIN? WOULD LIKE TO GET AS MUCH COMPRESSION AS POSSIBLE BUT DONT WANT INTERFERANCE,THANKS

we have run as little as .035'' if you need compression it wise to remachine the combustion chamber as well as the squish to maintain proper combustion dynamics and heat transfer from piston to head and cylinder.

to maintain a safe and functional squish gap clearance and get higher compression ratios you may need to remachine the combustion chamber deck surface and squish area together to make a dome profile that works for you or you need to have replaceable domes in the head body.
