Spenc at sled-werx only tests F7's with chaincases. He is right, the DD is garbage. If you don't have a 10 tooth driver in her either, than she is garbage for sure.

Just thought I would throw some wood on the fire. For gearing and racing applications the chaincase is much easier and cheaper to deal with. I've seen that Sherlock sled run and it flies!

you are correct that a chaincase is easier, but I wouldnt say that it is faster, there are acouple F1000 with the conversion that are not fast at all

There is fast and then there is quick. DD can be quick, usually works good in 700-800 ft. Most chain drives are still the fastest. Look at speed run results. Conversion kit chain drive still don't match a chain drive sled.

BIG FIRECAT YOUR D+D STATEMENT IS WRONG. I totally disagree with you! I have owned several motors and sleds that have been built from D+D and have been very happy with hp. It all depends on how radical you want to go. Sure they might have a motor that was setup to be more on the edge than yours was but thats your choice. When you buy a full race motor you have all they can produce. They want to see their motors win just as bad as you do. Why wouldn't they???
THATS HOW WE ROLL

my motor was built by Jeff Sherlock of Sherlock performance. coolcat lets take their F1000 set up it makes 225hp @ 9700 rpm and that is all good but in order to run a F1000 at 9700 rpm you have to have the ECU reprogrammed and arctic cat only did acouple of them for D&D only. My motor make 224hp@7800rpm. So at the old Forge shootout in December we all go my sled and D&D has theres is it fair to try to sell your kits running that hot box? I dont think it is fair D&D ran 8.915 109mph and mine ran 8.922 109mph with all stock ECU no hot box. Hands down you will get much better performance and reliability from Jeff Sherlock

With the F7s I would say a big bore they have them very well handled you could run the trail all day with one of Sherlocks F8 with 168 hp that is a 28hp gain with still running a stock pipe, a port job may put you at 152, I think the big bore is the way to go

Call D+D they did mine and runs very strong. They use stock 800 AC pistons also for reliability. Aaron |

still trying to see whats best.I keep hearing posts on big bore kits and how so many people say that they only get a few hundred miles on them and something blows up on it and how porting isn"t worth it,any other advice
