i got to chime in on this one.... ditto to mbr 44, we had 1980 tx and txc 440 and 340, raced the hell out of them til we swapped motors and i got beat by my own motor....we raced the hell out of them.  we even blew a piston in the 340 and did not know what the rings were for so we put it in without them so we could ride, it never did run the same.  in the mud of spring we ran the 74 evinrude 440's because they had boggies that would not plug up with mud.....good times

My first ride was in 1984< it was on a 78 440 yamaha exciter,  Hooked ever since. My first sled was a 1979 kawasaki 440 drifter. loved it, next was a 440 invader, fast as but a tank and didnt handle very well- kind of like the new cats-haha. I currently ride a 08 xp 800 adr. but i went back to my roots and bought a 78 txl 340 that is completely being restored in my garage.  Side note-  I spend all summer out on the river with my friends and all we talk about is snowmobiles. But in the winter we never talk about boating.

First sled I rode was a 1989 Indy 400 liquid, back in 1994.
