Man, this is like my second Christmas! Every year that’s what it is like for us at AmSnow when we get to see the new sleds. I am sure for many of you it is the same way. We wait, and get teased a little bit by the manufacturers, then wait some more, then make wild guesses, then fight with our friends in the cabin about what is coming next, then FINALLY the new model year sleds are released!
This year we must all have been good little sledheads because Santa-Snowmobile brought us all kinds of new goodies. We go into many of the details with the Sneak Peek articles in this issue but suffice it to say, we have our favorites. For me, some favorites that I will be looking to ride more are the EVO and the new Switchback XCR 850, the Renegade X-RS Turbo, Cat’s new Alpha One, and of course the Sidewinder SRX!
I will save my impressions of whether these end up my favorite sled models till I have more test-time on them, but I am excited about a lot of the new 2019 model-year machines and tech. There are probably more changes, some good and some bad, for 2019 than we had last year in 2018 … and that was an incredibly interesting model-year!
Don’t forget to order your new sled early in the spring because a lot of the newest and coolest models, motors and more are only available during the spring-buy programs. Each one of the four OEMs has their own program going on and these continue to be more enticing than previous years. That new Polaris 850 with a four-year warranty in particular is going to be a super-hot SnowCheck model!
