DIY mechanic’s delight
We’ve already mentioned the chassis reinforcements and a nearly bulletproof engine that’s been around for more than a decade, but there’s another piece to the 4000 RR puzzle that race team mechanics should be giddy about – the move to TEAM clutching.

These clutches are new to the consumer side for Cat, but the Arctic race program has been tuning them for a number of years already. They’re widely used by some other OEMs as well.

The change to the TEAM clutches allows the belt to grab more efficiently without any skid, thus allowing more ponies to transfer to the track at cooler running temps. Riders should see more life from the belt and clutches with this new consumer sled setup.

Those who like to monkey with clutch setup will also enjoy the ease of precise tuning offered by the TEAM clutching. I, for one, appreciate the ease of changing a belt with them on a below-zero day!
