Thayne Snow Days - Held the first weekend in February every year (this year it’s Feb. 6-8), this snowmobile spectacular event begins Friday with “Fire & Ice,” which features locals jumping snowmobiles over a ring of fire. Snow Days concludes on Saturday with drag racing for kids and adults, sanctioned by the Rocky Mountain Snowmobile Racing circuit.

Alpine Winter Jubilee – Feb. 20-22. This event features giant snow sculptures lining Main Street, a winter barbeque, horse drawn sleigh rides, children’s activities, a parade of lights, fireworks and a race sanctioned by the Rocky Mountain Snowmobile Racing circuit.

Afton Hillclimb – Feb. 27-29. This is a RMSHA circuit sanctioned event held outside of Afton and simply known every year in Star Valley as the “hillclimbs.” With huge crowds on hand and even bigger excitement, this snowmobile hillclimb event displays awesome talent and cutting edge technology.

Deadwood, South Dakota

Deadwood Snowmobile Rally – Jan. 30-31. Snowmobiling enthusiasts from across the Midwest and West are expected to converge on Deadwood for the first annual Deadwood Snowmobile Rally. The rally will be held in conjunction with the ISOC Deadwood SnoCross Shootout at the Days of ‘76 Rodeo Grounds.

The Deadwood ISOC Shootout, which will be Jan. 30-31 this year, was named event of the year for the 2013-14 ISOC Amsoil Series.

“We’ve always loved a good rally and the Snocross Shootout has been a great success in the two years we’ve hosted it,” said Lee Harstad, executive director of the Deadwood Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau. “This year we’re inviting everyone who loves riding as much as watching the snocross racing action to come early, stay late and enjoy the 350 miles of scenic Black Hills snowmobile trails.”

Snowmobile rally participants will be able to attend a number of events, including a meet-and-greet party with the ISOC racers, a display of antique snowmobiles on Deadwood’s Main Street and a Deadwood-style tailgate party for football fans. Free gifts and lodging discounts are also available to rally goers.

In addition, registered attendees receive tickets for two days and nights of ISOC Amsoil Championship SnoCross racing, welcome reception, free drinks, commemorative items and discounts. Riders will also be able to test their own skills on the snocross track for demonstration runs on Sunday, the day after the races.
